Summary: The Chief Financial Officer is directly responsible for developing and supporting company initiatives through strategic planning, analysis, and related recommendations. Performs analysis of financial and other information to measure and forecast the results of operations and initiatives. Conducts internal and external reporting and builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The CFO will oversee accounting staff and all accounting functions. The CFO works closely and in support of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in strategic planning and analysis to support organizational goals, providing actionable recommendations. Develop comprehensive financial and operational forecasts, metrics, and analysis to inform decision-making processes. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis tailored to guide resource allocation and strategic financial initiatives. Supervise accounting staff and oversee key accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost analysis, and reconciliations. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Forecast and manage cash flow projections, monitor daily borrowings, and ensure compliance with banking requirements and regulations. Design and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory guidelines. Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to protect the company's financial health, implementing proactive risk management strategies. Serve as a primary liaison with investors, analysts, and external stakeholders, providing financial updates and insights to support investor relations efforts. Collaborate closely with executive leadership to develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with the company's mission and objectives. Continuously identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and revenue optimization across various business functions. Evaluate and implement financial systems and technology solutions to streamline processes and enhance decision-making capabilities. Collaborate with insurance brokers to evaluate existing policies, identify areas for improvement, and negotiate better terms and coverage options to mitigate risk and reduce costs. Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure timely reporting. Marginal Duties: Adheres to safety and security standards and all company policies and procedures to ensure company objectives are met and communicates to management when safety concerns are observed. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of : Advanced understanding of financial management principles and practices, with a focus on the agricultural sector; expertise in strategic planning, business development, and operational optimization within agricultural enterprises; proficiency in budget development, financial forecasting, cost accounting, and financial risk management; familiarity with relevant federal, state, and local regulations and compliance standards impacting both general and agricultural finance and operations; experience in developing and implementing financial strategies to support growth and sustainability in agricultural businesses; strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market trends, economic factors, and agricultural industry dynamics; knowledge of agricultural technology and its implications for financial management and decision-making; effective leadership skills and experience in building collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams.Ability to: Analyze complex financial, operational, and organizational challenges, and develop strategic solutions; collect, interpret, and evaluate various types of information and data to inform decision-making; plan, coordinate, and implement financial projects and initiatives to achieve organizational objectives; lead the formulation of financial policies and procedures to optimize business operations; supervise personnel and provide guidance for effective performance and professional development; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to convey complex financial information and recommendations; develop and negotiate contracts, and oversee contractual agreements to ensure compliance and value; respond to emergency situations with composure and sound judgment; utilize standard office equipment and computer software applications for financial management specifically NetSuite. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; Minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience, including four years in financial management roles with administrative and supervisory responsibilities. CPA designation is preferred. Master's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is encouraged. Special Requirements: Requires the ability to maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of exercising sound judgment and rational thinking under varied circumstances; the ability to exert a small amount of physical effort in sedentary to light work involving moving from one area of the office to another; ability to see; ability to hear and communicate orally; requires sufficient hand/eye coordination to perform semi-skilled repetitive movements, such as using a computer, typing, data entry or use of other office equipment or supplies; ability to operate a motor vehicle. Compensation: This position offers a competitive salary ($150-200k) depending on experience and qualifications. In addition: Medical, Dental, Vision insurance.
