Make a real impact on brands enjoyed by millions of people and their pets.Location DescriptionThe Meadville, Pennsylvania facility is 135,000 square feet and home to about 290 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Rachael Ray-- Nutrish --. Located along the banks of French Creek in Northwestern Pennsylvania and 45 minutes from Pittsburgh, Meadville is home to more than 13,000 full time residents and 2,000 Allegheny College students. Meadville is an active center for business, industry, education, the arts, recreation, service and tourism. Conneaut Lake, Pymatuning State Park and the Erie National Wildlife Refuge are wonderful places to appreciate the area's natural beauty.ResponsibilitiesPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS --Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all plant equipment--Troubleshoots machines or equipment, replaces defective parts, orders parts not in stock, and adjusts equipment as necessaryDiagnoses unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with operators and other maintenance workers to correct problem or repair machinePerforms mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and replaces parts as needed to existing systemsReads and interprets blueprints, program listings, schematics and mechanical and wiring diagramsProactive in detecting and correcting machine performance problemsPerforms all preventative and scheduled maintenance as assignedEnsures that all safety devices are installed and operationalCleans and lubricates machine parts as required.Inspect and tests machinery and equipment as required.Installs equipment and completes work orders as assignedPrep the job by collecting all required tools and parts prior to shut down of equipmentWork with Operations to plan start and stop of downtime in productionEnsures that work is completed according to scheduleFollow all lock out/tag out proceduresContacts appropriate person when questions ariseEnsures that all Safety guidelines and procedures are followedEnsures that all SOPs are being followedInforms A-lead and Food Safety of any food safety concernsAdhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and job instructionsFollow all GMPsAccesses needed parts and tracks what is used according to established methodsCommunicate with team members to convey status, bring up concerns, or point out roadblocks to getting the equipment back into productionQualificationsJOB- RELATED COMPETENCIES (Abilities required of this position) ----Computer literate - navigate Windows, perform data entry3 years' experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment and working with HMI and PLC systems in a production facility.Verbal and Math SkillsKnow when to ask for help----Ability to work with little or no supervisionTime management skills - develop and adhere to a scheduleTrouble shooting skillsElectrical - Basic trouble-shooting skills using a meter and printMechanical - Basic trouble-shooting skills with bearings, actuators, gearboxes, etc.PLCs- Able to call up screen and understand the logicBasic SkillsAttention to detail (specifications)Able to work a flexible work schedule and be on call as assignedWilling to work weekendsAble to drive Fork-TruckHave own hand toolsAble to use air toolsAble to read blueprints and wiring diagramsMechanical/Electrical maintenance skillsUnderstands conveyance systems - Screw, air, vibratory and bucket elevatorsUnderstands Safety, LOTO, and GMPS as they relate to maintenanceGeneral Welding SkillsUnderstands and calculates measurements (fractions and decimals)Understands the manufacturing process and how their responsibilities relate to its proper functioningAble to perform boiler and steam safety and maintenanceAble to perform basic plumbing skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Necessary to perform essential functions of job with or without an accommodation) --Climb ladders and binsManeuver in tight spacesMove items of 55-80 lbs. in weight from one place to anotherStack repetitiously 60 lbs. or lessAble to differentiate between colorsAble to work in extreme temperature conditions (very hot or very cold)Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time--
