Description POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The dishwasher is responsible for washing dishes, cleaning, and helping to prep and serve meals. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must be able to work in a team environment 2. Must be able to take direction 3. Must be able to work well with others 4. Have a good attitude 5. Must be flexible and organized WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time 2. Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds 3. Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking 4. Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate 5. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull trays of food 6. Exposure to heat for extended periods of time from ovens, stoves, hot water, dishwasher, & other kitchen appliances. 7. Works with sharp utensils such as knives and other hazardous kitchen tools 8. Noise level is typically moderate but can at times be loud.
