Your days are filled with the dynamic tasks of creating and maintaining CNC programs and interpreting intricate 2D prints and solid models with finesse. You efficiently develop and specify component set-ups, conjuring custom fixtures as the need arises. Breathing life into new manufacturing processes and fine-tuning existing ones for optimal machining and cost-effectiveness is your goal. Your collaborative spirit shines as you work seamlessly with manufacturing and engineering teams, providing the essential support needed to bring projects to fruition. You're also a mentor, guiding machinists with your expertise, specifying tooling, testing innovations, occasionally operating CNC work centers, quoting outside contract work, and offering invaluable support to vendors. The knowledge and skills required are: 5+ years of experience in CNC programming, machining, tool/fixture design, and process development Proficiency in machining practices, cutting tools, work-holding, and part setups Ability to translate all engineering drawing requirements as needed for the development of CNC programs Ability to read/interpret engineering prints Ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) and apply them to machining processes Familiarity with the set-up and operation of CNC machines Ability to handle tooling up to 50 lbs.
