Quality Assurance Specialist- Mammography Technologist/Breast Sonograp

Description:
The Specialist will work with Onsite center technologists and various Onsite Women's Health organization members. The candidate will be responsible for training technologists in mammography, automated breast ultrasound (ABUS), diagnostic breast ultrasound, and all software programs used in the image transfer, tracking, and reporting of mammography automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) and diagnostic breast ultrasound exams. Qualifications: The candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with fellow team members, referring providers, and patients. The candidate should have superior training skills in 3D tomosynthesis mammography, automated breast ultrasound (ABUS), and diagnostic breast ultrasound, or have qualifications to learn to do so immediately after hiring. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines. Responsibilities: Specializes in training ergonomically correct mammography positioning technologists to demonstrate consistent and reproducible images.Provides written instruction to remedy positioning deficiencies.Trains radiologist protocols to technologists and interacts with the radiologists as necessary.Train new technologists on mammograms, ABUS, and diagnostic breast sonography equipment, and provide documentation for credentialing.Provide in-depth positioning training to new technologists after start-up and as necessary in mammography, ABUS, and diagnostic breast US.Must keep current with industry standards related to mammographic positioning.Distribute educational material on proper positioning techniques and troubleshooting problem areas in the field locations.Stay current on all ACR and FDA programs and mandates.Attend Applications Training with the manufacturer specialist, representing Onsite's policies and procedures.Understands and executes EQUIP policies and procedures for MQSA inspections as detailed in the QA Manual.Understand all aspects of the ACR Accreditation process and be actively involved in clinical image evaluation according to ACR standards.Maintains a thorough knowledgebase of workflow, PACS, PINk and Power Reader, Volpara Analytics software, and tracking systems as they are incorporated into the QA workflow.Evolve and grow with the position and any future responsibilities.Maintain open communication with the Clinical Director/QA Manager on all matters relating to positioning for mammography and breast sonography.All duties are subject to change as the needs of the position change.Travel Technologist Responsibilities: Accepts assignments to travel and provides coverage in various OWH client locations. Explain procedures to the patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.Moves mammographic / Breast sonography equipment to specific positions and adjusts controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of machines and protocols.Examine images for image quality.Ensure equipment is in proper working order at all times.Performs all required QA testing to comply with MQSA, ACR, and state requirements/regulations.Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.Complete paperwork and enter data accurately.Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.Prepare all required reports and data according to MQSA and State requirements.Perform all other duties as may be assigned.Education & Minimum Qualifications Required: ARRT required.Minimum of 5 years of practical experience.Must maintain CMEs as required by State and or National accreditation bodies.Proof of required educational level(s) is due at the time of hire.Self-starter who can work without daily supervision.Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.Must maintain multiple state licenses as required.Physical Requirements: The duties described above will require frequent standing and walking. The employee will frequently bend/stoop, twist, and turn. Hours & Compensation: Exempt salary position. Extensive travel is required.
