The Consumer Technology (CT) group executes the Wells Fargo Technology strategy and offers a strategic technology perspective to the lines of business we support. These LOBs include Auto; Card, Merchant Services; Home Lending; Personal Loans and Retail Services within Consumer Lending. Our teams provide technology solutions to the LOBs and manage the application portfolios through the enablers of skills, stability, security, scalability, speed, and success. A customer-focused organization that delivers the next generation of payments capabilities; advances digital offerings; enables innovation to develop new customer experiences and products; and enhances digital channels, branches, contact centers, and ATM technologies. About this Role: Reporting to the Consumer Technology, Head of Platform Services, the Platform Delivery Leader will collaborate with business CIOs to transform the existing workforce into cross functional squads to build improved products across the Consumer Technology Portfolio. They will guide agile platform squads to increase productivity and quality by learning and applying the right tools and practices to become autonomous cross-functional teams. The Leader will spearhead non-functional requirements to better understand how resilient our systems are and guarantee availability of products and services. Additionally, they will spearhead adoption and delivery of automation in-sprint, delivering improved quality and speed through automation. Some of the key responsibilities will include: Collaborate with CIOs to deliver availability, speed, resiliency, and quality outcomes: Transform the existing workforce to one that can build better products across the Consumer Technology portfolioImprove availability, operational efficiency, resiliency and recovery across the 90+ apps that comprise this portfolioEmbed cross-functional teams ('squads') to deliver automation and non-functional requirementsCulture of 'one team' focused on customer outcomes delivered through modern architecture and infrastructureShatter the legacy paradigms of 'keep the lights' on supportKnowledge of Architecture and App/Dev partner space and tight collaboration across both Mature Agile Engineering across Consumer Technology Portfolio through partnership with enabling teams including SRE, E&A and CTO: Cross-functional and co-located team supportCreating a culture committed to Site Reliability skills maturity and global engineering talentProduct knowledge and the ability to lead your teams to become expert knowledge holders themselvesManage, measure, and enforce SRE maturity, expected Agile outcomes, automation standards, code quality and code coverageCollaborate to influence and uphold Enterprise standards around Non-functional Requirements (NFR's), API's, EventsCollaborate to ensure all new and modernized applications are cloud first and built to "gold standards"Innovation to improve availability in distributed, mainframe and cloud applications Spearhead Non-Functional Requirements to both understand how resilient our systems are and guarantee availability of Consumer Technology Portfolio: Define and deliver all new feature functions to include automation and non-functional requirementsAccountable to impose constraints via non-functional requirements on the design of the systemAccountable for delivery and leadership of these non-functional platform and performance engineering practices (performance, availability, resiliency, scaling, auditability, logging, monitoring, deployment automation, test automation, error handling, 'secure from the start activities') Spearhead adoption and delivery of automation and code coverage: Define and lead automation, DevOps, and risk avoidance effortsEnsure code coverage for all new/modified codeLead test automation implementation Deliver efficiency through operational maturity: Define target operating model for a data-driven organizationAdopt enterprise tools and standards, resulting in efficiencyChallenge paradigms Lead with Agile Engineering: Define and lead SRE squads, domain drive design practices, and support constructs such as blue/green deployment, A/B testing, feature toggles etc. Lead Wells Fargo in Site Reliability and Agile Engineering Talent Bench: Develop a T-shaped bench of engineering expertsEstablish clear objectives and key resultsAttract and grow diverse teamsEstablish strong management functions and talentFacilitate an environment for continuous technology learning and 'fail fast' culture Additional responsibilities may include: Managing a team of engineering managers and leadsFocusing on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic prioritiesBuilding support for strategies with business and technology leader Guiding development of actionable roadmaps and plansIdentifying opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practicesProviding oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providersIdentifying financial management and strategic resourcingSetting risk management guidelines and partnering with stakeholders to implement key risk initiativesDeveloping strategies for hiring engineering talentLeading implementation of projects and encouraging engineering innovationCollaborating and influencing all levels of professionals including more experienced managersLeading and motivating teams to achieve objectivesInterfacing with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forumsManaging allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic LeadershipDeveloping and guiding a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy Required Qualifications: 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education4+ years of Management experience Desired Qualifications: Domain experience in Platform Engineering and support, Site Reliability Engineering, Architecture, Branch Banking, and Become a Customer portfolios8+ years of experience with Agile practices5+ years of experience with systems architectureKnowledge and understanding of system monitoring and automationKnowledge and understanding of application testing methodologies, tools and executionAbility to influence & build support for strategies across all organizational levels, particularly senior managementA Masters degree in computer science or engineeringExperience managing large technology development efforts within a major line of business Ability to communicate powerfully and prolifically with experience communicating complex technical information and value/impact in simple terms to senior and executive leadersHighly skilled leadership capabilities including experience building, leading and engaging high-performing, diverse and inclusive teams Job Expectations: Ability to travel
