Sentry has an opportunity for a Portfolio Manager Senior- Equity Investments to join our team at our headquarters in Stevens Point, WI. This role ensures the successful management of the assigned investment portfolios through the appropriate allocation of assets. You will monitor domestic and world situations and analyze their effect on investments to ensure the successful management of the portfolios. What You'll Do As a Portfolio Manager- Equity Investments, you will: Manage an assigned segment of investments within a variety of insurance company portfolios. Determine which investments should be purchased or sold and how the available funds should be allocated. Buy and sell investments with minimal or no direct supervision. Be responsible for monitoring the assigned portfolios after selection and execution of the investment decision. Analyze any situation that affects investment or potential investment. Exercise authority to make decisions regarding the purchase or sale of particular investments. Evaluate new investment technologies, strategies and vehicles for application in Sentry investment portfolios. Participates in formulating investment policy statements for the Boards of the various Sentry companies. Additionally, you will: Gain knowledge of the various investments in multiple ways i.e., from brokerage house research reports and financial statements released by individual companies, through daily dialogue with brokers and analysts, numerous meetings with analysts and the management of companies under investment consideration, and business periodicals and industry publications. Provide backup for portfolios managed by other Investments personnel. Prepare reports on the status of investments being held in the various portfolios and presents to management as appropriate. Monitor the world situation, regulatory action, contract negotiations, changes in technology, ect., for their effect on the investment industry and individual companies. Performs other job-related duties as assigned from time to time. What it Takes Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required Minimum 5 years relevant work experience In-depth knowledge of all aspects of assigned investment markets Strong background in macroeconomics, financial and statistical analysis, and portfolio management theory Human relations and communications skills Ability to meet the travel requirements of the job What You'll Receive: At Sentry, your total rewards go beyond competitive compensation.
