Company Overview Contentnea Health is a Community Health Center providing comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services for members of our communities in Greene, Pitt and Pamlico counties in eastern North Carolina. Job Summary Processes accounts payable and assists with research, reconciliation and reporting of financial information. Responsibilities and Duties Processes accounts payable in a timely manner. Corresponds with staff and vendors to obtain necessary documents needed to process invoices and payments, including W9s, ACH/wire information, service agreements, contracts, and supporting documentation. Creates and maintains accurate vendor accounts in the accounting application. Performs checks to ensure new vendors are not on exclusions lists and performs monthly exclusion list checks for all vendors. Codes invoices, expense reimbursements and check requests with correct general ledger codes conforming to departmental procedure within timelines in established policies and procedures. Compares invoices to purchase orders/agreements, prices, and terms of payment to ensure accuracy of invoiced amounts. Researches and resolves invoice discrepancies. Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records, and reports. Manages the accounts payable email inbox and responds to inquiries promptly and professionally. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures related to accounts payable. Assists with research, reconciliation and reporting of financial information for routine financial reports, cost reports, audits, Uniform Data System Reporting and ad hoc reporting. Maintains a log of the quantity and dollar amount of flu, pneumococcal, and COVID-19 vaccines invoiced. Maintains a log of invoiced hours and dollar amount for each contracted clinical staff person. Assists with month-end and annual closing activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliations and accruals. Provides supporting documentation for audit testing of financial transactions related to accounts payable. Supports preparation of Form E-585 Nonprofit and Governmental Entity Claim for Refund on a semi-annual basis. Processes approved purchase requests. Reviews purchase requests for vendor and cost alternatives. Reviews purchase requests against available budget amounts. Evaluates products and suppliers according to key business criteria. Monitors supplier performance and resolves issues and concerns. Ensures receipt of proof of delivery. Qualifications and Skills Possesses knowledge and training in the field of Accounting, typically acquired through a formal Associates Degree in Accounting, Business or related field.
