Olin Winchester, LLC ("Winchester"),considered one of the world's leading ammunition manufacturers,is seeking an Machinist Technician - Flex Pro Machine Shop. This position will be located at the Lake City Army Ammunitions Plant in Independence, Mo. As a Machinist Technician with Olin Winchester, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines used in manufacturing settings, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines. You will interpret engineering drawings, set up machines, and ensure that finished products meet quality and safety standards. You will also perform routine maintenance on machines, troubleshoot issues, and may assist in the design and development of new products. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are important for success in this role.Machinist Technician Essential Functions: * Operate various machine shop equipment including CNC and manual mills, lathes, and other equipment. * Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions. * Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. * Prepare bills of material, specifications, and work orders.Machinist Technician Position Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree/certificate in Tool & Die or Machining preferred. * Minimum two years of Machining / Tool & Die experience; ability to program CNC mills and lathes preferred. * Ability to work standard shift hours Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm with every other Friday off; must be flexible with scheduling changes as determined by needs of the business which may require overtime or temporary shift (day/time) changes. * Reading and understanding blueprints and specifications. * Experience with AutoCAD software for reading, editing, and creating blueprints. * Proficient in precision measuring using micrometers and calipers. * Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and trade-type tools to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment. * Ability to work effectively without direct supervision and be comfortable instructing others if needed. * This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required. * This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. * This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.What's in it for you?Many of our employees have been with us for decades.
