Accountant II : Capital

Specific Responsibilities The Senior Accountant for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache's Capital Accounting team, reporting to the Capital Accounting Manager. This role will be primarily responsible for the following: :Perform various Capital accounting functions including posting and analyzing DD and A, asset retirement obligations, non:oil and gas transactions, accruals, and impairments.:Perform key internal control procedures timely.:Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.:Work directly with Asset Teams and other groups internal to Apache to problem solve and provide guidance as needed.:Prepare quarterly reports for management. :Support Capital Manager with special projects and system testing. Qualifications and Experience The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: :Bachelors degree required, preferably in Accounting; other field of study may be considered when combined with a minimum of 12 completed accounting hours:5 + years of professional financial accounting experience in the oil and gas industry:Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, and Outlook:Knowledge and experience in SAP preferred:Outstanding communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, organizational, and leadership skills:Experience implementing sound decisions when faced with multi:faceted problems Competencies The successful candidate should demonstrate and exhibit the following core competencies: :Communication: Writes, speaks, and presents information effectively and persuasively across communication setting;:Results: Pursues work with energy, drive, and results orientation to positively impact Apaches business success;:Collaboration: Works in partnership with others and encourages different perspectives, while building and maintaining trust; and:Culture: Willingness and ability to align ones behavior with the needs, priorities, and goals of Apache.
