Description:
Job Purpose: Assist the Vice President with accounting execution of corporate and joint venture upper-tier-level financial information and review financial statements in a timely and accurate manner. The candidate will be expected to exhibit creative and flexible skills, working in a growing environment. Responsibilities and Duties: Review full-cycle accounting, including full accounts payable processing, journal entries, monthly accruals/amortizations, and Balance Sheet reconciliations. Responsible for oversight of accounting for multiple joint venture upper-tier entities within Company portfolio (student housing real estate properties). Responsible for oversight of accounting for property management company corporate entity within Company portfolio. Assist with preparation of annual budget. Review Property Management Agreements, including monthly corporate fee revenue collection efforts. Prepare annual work papers and reconciliations for year-end tax returns and external audit. Assist Vice President with cash flow analyses. Spearhead all Treasury efforts, including bank account openings/closings, monitoring fraud prevention tools, and managing general relationship with various banking partners. Oversee overall Accounts Payable operation, including vendor management processes. Identify areas for process improvement and help increase efficiencies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 3+ years of prior corporate-level accrual basis accounting Prior experience working in Treasury & Accounts Payable functions Real estate investment/management company experience preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel application Experience with Entrata, MRI, and/or Yardi accounting software preferred Candidate needs to be coachable, enthusiastic, creative, flexible, display strong technical aptitude, detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Powered by JazzHR
