We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Full-Time Veterinary Technician to join our Dentistry & Oral Surgery Department. Position: Veterinary Technician - Specialties Department: Dentistry & Oral Surgery Shift: Day Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm On Call: Required. A maximum of three weeknight (7-hour) shifts per month and one Saturday or Sunday (12-hour) shift every two months. What to Expect in Your Role: As a Veterinary Technician in our Dentistry & Oral Surgery Department, you will play a pivotal role within our outstanding team, dedicated to diagnosing and treating disorders of the oral cavity, teeth, as well as the bones, joints, and muscles of the head. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including proficiency in medical terms and abbreviations, dental and oral health, animal restraint, diagnostic tests, and troubleshooting monitoring equipment - all essential components for success in this dynamic role. Each patient has a team of dedicated anesthesia technician, dentistry technician, and dentist & oral surgeon to maximize patient nursing, comfort, and safety. Our Dentistry & Oral Surgery team is comprised of a board-certified veterinary dentist, two VTS (Dentistry) technicians, and a third Credentialed Veterinary Technician. They are all eager to provide unwavering support, and encouragement for your professional growth and development, and collaborate with you in delivering top-notch care to our beloved patients. Dentistry and Oral Surgery Services You'll Be Involved In: Endodontics Oral Surgery Fractured Teeth Periodontal Disease Malocclusion and Orthodontic Treatment Restorative and Prosthodontic Treatment Dental Radiography and Advanced Maxillofacial Imaging Home Care & Client Education Qualifications for Success: To excel in this role, you'll need an A.A.S or B.S Degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA-accredited school, along with current certification, license, or registration as a Veterinary Technician. Two years of client service or customer support experience, in addition to at least two years of clinical practice experience if credentialed, are required. Bonus points for certifications such as RECOVER CPR Certified and Fear Free Certified, and having a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification is highly valued. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), data entry skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and strong typing skills are essential.
