Job Description Summary The GRACE K!DS (GK) Director at the Old Jacksonville (OJ) Campus exists to provide on-site vision, leadership, and oversight for Sunday morning operations in Grace K!DS birth through 4th grade as well as for special events at the Old Jacksonville Campus. This includes discipleship and oversight of the Grace KIDS Preschool, Elementary, and Grace K!DS Community Coordinators at OJ, in addition to the leaders and families involved in Grace K!DS. You get excited when thinking of the possibilities of how you can equip them to know and love the Word of God and help them grow in His truth. You thrive in an active environment with rhythms based upon the church (and sometimes school) calendar, but when activities, situations, or the unexpected happens, you pivot well to address changing priorities or a hiccup that might send others spinning. Gonna happen! Empathy is a strong suit, and you respond to others’ emotions or tough circumstances with support, professionalism, and prayer. Pouring into others gives you joy and energy and instills confidence in those you serve. You’re seasoned enough to partner with parents and families well to walk alongside them through the ups and downs of these crucial years. You are a reliable leader who understands the importance of good communication and you have an appreciation for the gifts and perils of technology. Skills and Abilities: Personal & intimate relationship with Jesus through the study of Scripture, worship, & community Leadership skills: able to model servant leadership and possesses the ability to handle confrontation, well-spoken, can lead a meeting, talk in front of a large group, can organize and manage a ministry event Self-motivated and proactive with good time management skills Effective listening and problem-solving skills Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team Manages time well and prioritizes tasks effectively Supports overall purpose, core values, and mission statement of Grace Community Education, Training, Experience: Bachelor's Degree -in early childhood education or children’s ministry preferred; we are happy to consider experience in lieu of formal education Two years experience working with children, ideally in a teaching or ministry capacity An understanding of Christian worldview and the ability to articulate Gospel principles to children and adults Work or Ministry Team Context: Offices at Grace Community Church Office on University Blvd. and operates at the Old Jacksonville Campus on Sunday mornings. This position works with and includes discipleship of leaders and families involved in Grace K!DS, in addition to working with the global GK Director and global GK staff to carry out the mission and vision of Grace Community Church. Works with Grace K!DS Operations Director to ensure effective ministry regarding systems and record keeping. Partners with OJ Campus Development Pastor and Guest Services Coordinator to meet the needs of the Old Jacksonville community. Partners with Campus Pastor, Worship Pastor, and Development Pastor to serve the mission of the church however needed.
