Physician Assistant : Medical Oncology

Salary Range:64.56:99.25/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education. The Physician Assistant works collaboratively with the physicians in providing multidisciplinary care for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients requiring services in the outpatient setting. This role, under the direct supervision and collaboration with the medical staff delivers supportive medical management for a defined patient population within the scope of the PA license, with emphasis on health promotion, education, coordination of care and emotional support to the patients and families while combining the qualities of both nursing and medicine. This role provides health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment under the supervision of a the supervising physician. This includes selecting and furnishing medication, documenting care provided in medical records, coding patient visits, and submitting patient charges. Acts as a patient advocate in all ethical and legal aspects. Collaboration with the department partners in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating departmental goals, objectives, new programs, services and strategic plans. Plans, implements and evaluates departmental development and training needs. Expands scientific base by initiating review of literature, disseminating recent innovations and research findings relevant to specialty and patient outcomes Education and Experience Required: :Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program:Evidence of satisfactory performance and completion of proctoring requirements License Required :Current license in good standing to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of California:Current and active DEA licensure License Preferred :N/A Certifications Required :Current BLS and ACLS certification is required prior to clinical rotationHoag is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
