Practice Area: Data Privacy - Transactional, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, A law firm is seeking a DSSP Incident Response Associate Attorney for its Washington, DC, office.Job Overview:The DSSP Incident Response Associate Attorney will be responsible for proactive and reactive data protection matters, including advising on data security incidents, regulatory investigations, and compliance with contractual and legal security obligations. Additionally, the associate will assist with privacy issues and advise clients on cybersecurity laws, incident notification obligations, regulatory investigations defense, consumer disclosures, internal policies, technology contracts, and MA cybersecurity matters.Duties:Advise clients on compliance with cybersecurity lawsHandle federal, state, and international data security incident notificationsDefend regulatory investigations related to securityPrepare public-facing consumer disclosures and internal company policiesDraft, revise, and negotiate data and technology contractsAdvise MA deal teams and colleagues on cybersecurity mattersAssist the team with privacy issues as neededRequirements:2-4 years of legal experienceFoundational knowledge of federal, state, and foreign cybersecurity lawsMotivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigationsExperience liaising with claims counsel, forensic experts, and vendors preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational/project management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCommitment to continued development in cybersecurity and data privacy lawsAdmission to the DC BarEducation Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolSkills:Legal experience in cybersecurity counseling and incident responseProficiency in drafting materials in business-friendly language Prestige, opportunity, diversity, and tremendous culture draw associates to this global conglomerate firm.
