Practice Area: Data Privacy - Transactional, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, A law firm is seeking a DSSP Advisory Associate Attorney for their Boston, MA, office.Job Overview:The DSSP Advisory Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel in data strategy counseling and privacy compliance matters. They will assist the team in advising clients on privacy programs, legislative impacts, consumer disclosures, policy documents, and privacy risks. Incident response and transactional diligence support will also be part of their responsibilities.Duties:Assist in advising clients on the development of enterprise privacy programsProvide legal counsel on the operational impact of privacy legislationDraft and review consumer disclosures and internal policy documents related to privacy and data useIdentify and assess privacy and security risks in product design, operational use cases, and business partnershipsSupport the team with incident response and transactional diligence as neededRequirements:2-4 years of legal experienceExperience providing legal advice on privacy and/or data strategy issuesFamiliarity with the California Consumer Privacy Act/California Privacy Rights Act and other comprehensive US state privacy lawsKnowledge of US and international privacy and security laws such as COPPA, GDPR, BIPA, GLBA, and VPPA (preferred)Strong communication skills, including the ability to draft memos in business-friendly languagePrior technology experience (e.g., software development or employment at a tech company) is helpfulCIPP/US certification preferredAdmission to the Massachusetts BarEducation:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolSkills:Legal research and analysisExcellent written and verbal communicationAttention to detailAbility to work effectively in a teamTime management and prioritization skills Prestige, opportunity, diversity, and tremendous culture draw associates to this global conglomerate firm.
