Are you interested in offering valuable assistance to students with extra requirements? Does the idea of working in an adaptable setting align with your preferences? In the capacity of a study skills educator, you will provide support to students in the Derby region who face learning challenges. This will involve engaging in one: on: one interactions with students, gaining a comprehensive understanding of their needs, and offering academic support to help them excel. Responsibilities: As a Study skills tutor you will be expected to: Provide tailored one: to: one support with students you have been assigned to based on their specific learning difficulties Assist students with organisational skills such as, time management, creating action plans to work towards deadlines Help with their research skills by assisting them to access ranges of resources Provide help with writing skills, how to structure their work Encourage students to build on existing strengths so they are able to develop on their independence Behave in a confidential and professional manner at all time with students Work closely with Randstad and ensure any concerns regarding students are communicated immediately Requirements: As this is a specialist role, it is essential that you have a professional membership with one of the following: The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS) : Full or associate membership British Dyslexia Association (BDA) : Full professional membership The Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education (ADSHE) : Professional membership Dyslexia Guild Associate Member (ADG) o Associate Member (ADG FE/HE) o Member (MDG) Benefits of being a spld tutor with Randstad: GBP31.38 per hour (this includes your holiday pay) Refer: a: Friend scheme where you could have a chance of earning GBP300 in vouchers E: Learning and CPD A dedicated, professional and friendly consultant to guide you through your journey.
