They pride themselves on delivering top-notch products and services to their clients and are looking for a dedicated Production Planner with buying duties to join their team. Commutable from Lutterworth, Coventry, Nuneaton, Atherstone, Tamworth, Rugby and Leicester. Position Overview: The Production Planner will be responsible for overseeing the production and engineering planning process, and ensuring that all materials and components are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner to customer specifications and requirements. The Role of Production Planner: 1. Production Planning: - Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products. - Coordinate with the Production Foreman to ensure smooth production flow. - Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary. - Analyse production specifications and workload capacity data to determine projected hours and material requirements. - Coordinate and manage the mix of the production teams' shop floor and onsite workload. - Coordinate and liaise with suppliers of parts and services to ensure timely deliveries. 2. Buying Duties: - Source and negotiate with suppliers to procure the necessary materials and components. - Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as necessary. - Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery times. - Maintain and update a database.
