Im currently recruiting for a skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a team on a freelance basis to work on a prominent highways scheme in Hampshire. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of the project, ensuring cost efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities: Manage all financial aspects of the highways scheme, including cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting. Conduct thorough cost analysis and risk backssment to identify potential savings and areas for improvement. Prepare tender documents, contracts, and procurement strategies in collaboration with the project team. Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines. backss and manage variations, claims, and disputes, ensuring fair and timely resolution. Provide expert advice and guidance on contractual matters to the project team and stakeholders. Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on highways or infrastructure projects. Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles. Strong analytical and problem: solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Cost X, and CCS Candy. Membership of a relevant professional body (e. g. RICS) is desirable.
