Student Worker - Bus and Passenger Vehicle CleanerHourly Rate: $14.00APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED UNTIL POSITION(S) FILLED.Student employment positions are part-time,19 hour-or-less per week, temporary/seasonal appointments. Some positions may require federal work study. The work schedule is dependent upon departmental needs and employee's availability, typically work hours are between 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday thru Friday. The student employee may receive direction from other Public Safety staff.For information about student employment and the requirements, visit: Applicants must submit: An online employment application Cover letter Resume or CVEssential Job Functions: Clean and detail the interior and exterior of the Parkland College Bus Fleet. Wash exterior. Sweep and mop interior of vehicles. Clean and treat interior or vehicles. Clean windows and mirrors of vehicles. Empty trash cans in vehicles. Use cleaning tools and supplies properly. Keep inventory of tools and cleaning supplies, notify supervisor of needed repairs and when cleaning supplies are low. Assist in vehicle maintenance issues, if possible. Create and maintain documents using Microsoft Office applications. Learn other computer programs to assist with data entering. Assist with completing forms in accordance with department procedures. Operate office equipment, such as copiers, PCs, and/or phone systems. Work independently and efficiently. May assist with special projects, and events. Perform all other related duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements: Meet all eligibility requirements for student employment as determined by Financial Aid. Some positions may require Federal Work Study. Ability to complete all cleaning and detailing tasks, as stated in the essential job functions. Ability to learn how to operate standard office equipment and computer systems. Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone. Ability to work inclusively in a diverse setting. Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, communicate changes in work schedule in advance. Appropriate attire as discussed for the work environment. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Access, Excel, Word) is preferred.
