The role involves providing legal counsel, depositing, and preparing all pre-trial motions and documents. The ideal candidate should possess strong oral advocacy and legal writing skills and a proactive approach to client communication and business development.Duties:Litigate unlawful detainer actions in California state courts (Orange County, Riverside, and San Bernardino) on behalf of property owners and managers.Defend and conduct depositions.Provide legal advice through phone consultations, assessing the facts and issues of each scenario, and counseling clients accordinglyRespond to client questions and concerns to increase and retain businessWork with legal staff to ensure all pre-trial motions, pleadings, and discovery documents are prepared and completedRequirements:J.D. degreeActive California Bar license2+ years of trial experience, preferably with jury trial experienceStrong oral advocacy skillsStrong legal writing skillsAbility to work with people of all educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds with differing communication abilitiesKnowledge of unlawful detainer lawContact and relationships within the rental housing industryFederal Court (CA Central) admission and knowledge of Bankruptcy lawEducation Certifications:J.D. degreeActive California Bar licenseFederal Court (CA Central) admission (preferred)Skills:Strong oral advocacyLegal writingClient communication and retentionCase managementRelationship building within the rental housing industryBenefits:The firm offers benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401(k), paid vacation, and sick time.
