Mainframe DevOps Consultant (Endevor Conversion to ISPW)

TeamSWAMI is seeking a candidate with proven experience in successfully migrating mainframe version control systems, preferably from CA Endevor to BMC ISPW. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with mainframe development, complex conversion projects and in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with both CA Endevor and BMC ISPW. Responsibilities: Assessment and Migration Planning Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the existing CA Endevor environment. Develop a detailed plan for the migration process from CA Endevor to BMC ISPW, including timelines and resource requirements. Configuration, Setup and Migration Configure and set up BMC ISPW to align with the organization's development and deployment requirements. Ensure a smooth transition by mapping existing Endevor configurations to ISPW equivalents Ensure seamless integration with existing tools and systems. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with both CA Endevor and BMC ISPW. Proficiency in mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, JCL, and others. Lead the migration of code repositories and version history from CA Endevor to BMC ISPW. Validate the accuracy and completeness of the migrated data. Collaborate with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition. Address concerns and provide guidance to stakeholders throughout the migration process. Customize BMC ISPW configurations to meet specific organizational requirements. Develop scripts and automation processes to streamline workflows and optimize deployment practices. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the migration process. Collaborate with technical teams to address challenges and ensure a successful conversion. Training and Knowledge Transfer: Create user guides and documentation for ongoing reference. Provide training sessions for the development and operations teams on using BMC ISPW effectively. Experience in providing training sessions and mentoring teams through technology transitions. Maintain detailed documentation of the migration process, configurations, and any customizations made. Facilitate knowledge transfer to ensure a successful transition and ongoing support. Project Management: Strong project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor the conversion process effectively. Excellent communication skills to convey technical information clearly and facilitate collaboration among diverse teams. Problem Solver with an analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve challenges related to migration and integration. Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and unforeseen challenges during the conversion process. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in mainframe development and a successful track record of migrating from CA Endevor to BMC ISPW.
