Job reference number Senior Financial Accountant (Pensions) : Chesterfield or London (Hybrid) : Permanent Competitive salary Car allowance GBP 4000 or GBP 3500 cash equivalent Single person private healthcare Annual bonus potential Generous annual leave offering of 27.5days, plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 10years service Company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution rates Full time Permanent This is a Hybrid Working role with a requirement to attend your closest geographical office, Chesterfield or London, three days per week, with flexibility required in line with business needs. About the role On a monthly basis, you will prepare information for the relevant pensions sections of the Group's Scorecard Cash Flow Statement, and provide balance sheet reconciliations for the pensions ledger balances. At the financial year end and half year, you will prepare the required pensions calculations and disclosures in the accounts and tax pack. You will manage the pensions audit process, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure that the audit runs smoothly and deadlines are met. You will also have oversight of the recording of pension asset valuations and work with the Group's actuaries, and senior management to determine the pension assumptions to be used at each reporting date for the pension liability calculations, for submission to the Board for approval. Throughout the year you will work with the external auditors to review and improve, as appropriate, the pensions audit process and ensure that the auditor is kept up to date with any pensions changes and any issues are discussed and resolved well in advance of the year end/half year. You will provide information to senior management on pensions accounting issues and reporting (e. g. preparation of Audit and Risk Committee papers and Board papers as required).
