Actual job descriptions and job title is subject to change What We're Looking For: We are seeking a ECE Coordinator who designs, coordinates, delivers and evaluates high quality educational services to programs serving infants and toddlers in the family child care home setting. Provides training and professional development to Infant and Toddler Specialist and FCCH providers to increase the quality and strengthen practices that enhance the healthy growth and development of infants and toddlers (birth to 48 months of age). Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of program ongoing assessment process, curriculum development and education school readiness goals. Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise to the Early Head Start Program. Responsible for overall coordination of services provided through the Infant Toddler Specialist. Coordinator has further responsibility for coordinating services for health, nutrition, mental health and disabilities services to ensure the overall health, social and emotional well being of program participants. ECE Coordinators' objective is to ensure Early Head Start participants have access to a medical home and receive health, mental health and related services. The Coordinator ensures trusting relationships working closely with families to implement a follow-up plan. Tracking health and disabilities services and maintaining case notes, the Coordinator is a primary member of the multi-disciplinary team to address participants' health and special needs using a case management approach. The ECE Coordinator will: Supervises, Coaches, and mentors Infant Toddler Specialist by providing recommendations on instructional materials, teaching methods, and related equipment for the purpose of providing high quality services to children. Works with a team to plan and implement a comprehensive child development program that meets the Head Start definition of curriculum in all program options and settings. Provides monitoring and technical assistance to Infant and Toddlers Specialist overseeing the child care partners in the delivery of a quality Early Head Start program. Assist Inspects Center facilities and Day Care homes for health, safety, fire, and occupancy violation for the purpose recommending necessary corrective action to assure environmental quality. Monitors that Infant Toddler Specialist has maintained implemented the Head Start curriculum development, ongoing assessment, and the coordination of the child portfolio. Monitors that Infant Toddler Specialist have coordinated and assured the provision of comprehensive health, mental health, nutrition and disabilities services for the Early Head Start Program; Monitors that Infant Toddler Specialist have promoted preventative health services and early intervention as well as health and safety practices working closely with families; Monitors that Infant Toddler Specialist have maintained health records and assures an effective system of tracking and follow-up and confidentiality; Organizes the Health Services Advisory Committee and works closely with public and private health providers to address community health issues that are manifested in infants, toddlers and families; Initiates and implements agreements with other agencies that provide Early Head Start eligible families with access to health services throughout the community; Recommends and assists in the development of procedures and policies in conformance with the Early Head Start Performance Standards as well as state and local regulations; Implements Head Start Performance Standards and reviews, evaluate, interpret and disseminate records and reports intended to show progress and accountability. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS: BA in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Human Development or related field with knowledge of child development birth to three. Hold a California Program Supervisors Permit or be eligible to obtain. Three or more years experience working with families in a support and empowering environment. Two (2) or more years of experience in a State funded child care program, Head Start, or Early Head Start program in a management or coordinating position. Must have a working knowledge of various computer programs including Microsoft Word, and Excel. Excellent computer skills required. Experience in statistical analysis and working with social services or related community activities preferred. Knowledge of Head Start and Early Head Start Performance Standards Knowledge of state funded Family Child Care Homes programs Knowledge of Child Care Licensing Regulations and Head Start Performance Standards Knowledge of adult learning principles and leadership's competencies. Ability to communicate, both oral and written, to individuals with diverse backgrounds Ability to speak, read and write English well enough to understand and be understood by others; bilingual skills are helpful Ability to speak before groups of individuals Ability to accept, reflect and act upon feedback. Must facilitate and model respectful, professional communication and teamwork, demonstrating a positive attitude. Ability to relate to diverse groups of people including low-income families. Ability to develop warm, open relationship with children, parents and staff. Ability to promote Head Start to children, families, co-workers and community. Ability to work as a team member with other staff and parents. Ability to coordinate projects, work independently and follow through with project completion. Under the supervision of the Early Head Start Manager, this position must implement and follow Child Care Licensing Regulations, State Child Development program requirements and Head Start Performance Standards and best practices related to early childhood education and assigned program area. Must monitor and maintain documentation, data and files and ensures utmost confidentiality of information. Includes program file requirements, training documents, and tracking. Special Requirements Must have reliable transportation and possess a valid California Driver License in good standing with DMV required; current liability insurance Must meet State health requirements to include passing a physical examination as condition of employment, Live Scan, and TB clearance.
