The De Muniz Resource Center connects justice-involved clients with vital needs, including employment, education, housing, treatment, and more, all aimed at improving their lives and enhancing a safe community. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of this position. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Four or more years of work or volunteer experience in social or community services, corrections, criminal justice, or related public sectors. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may be accepted. College course work in human services, psychology, or criminal justice preferred but not required. Preference will be given to candidates who have employment or volunteer experience working with incarcerated or formerly incarcerated individuals. Ideal candidates with have experience mentoring and/or presenting educational information to adults. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS Driver qualification status is not required for this position. Candidate must pass a pre-employment Marion County Sheriff's Office background check. This position is subject to MWVCAA's Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Intermediate user level for Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook is required. Ability to exercise good judgment in difficult situations. Effective interpersonal communication skills, in both written and oral form. Demonstrates tact, diplomacy and empathy when communicating formally and informally with clients, staff, and program partners. Successful multitasker that can adapt and work in a flexible environment. Professionally and positively represents the program and the agency in the community. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required. Facilitates and/or co-facilitates various life-skill classes to reentry clients using approved curriculum. Tutors and assists clients with creating resumes and cover letters, applying for jobs, soft skills training, and other employment education and general community resources. Provides client tracking, follow-up, and support as required. Monitors client groups, classes, and computer lab. Enters client data in database and runs applicable reports. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling office equipment. Regulates emotions and handles pressures of frequent demands for attention, time and work tasks. Ability to effectively deescalate heightened interactions. WORK ENVIRONMENT Indoor, office work environment with frequent interruptions and demands. Working with coworkers/clients over the phone, via video conferencing, and in-person. Occasional noise and distractions in work spaces. Corrections facility working with a client population that may exhibit unpredictable behavior. *COVID-19 Alert: This position includes performing essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic and potential exposure to others who may be infected with the virus.
