The City of Penticton is looking to fill the position of Lifeguard Supervisor in our Recreation Department. T he Recreation Department promotes and contributes to a healthy community and enhances the quality of life for Penticton residents and visitors through planning, management and delivery of recreation, sports events and active living opportunities. This department partners with volunteers, community members and private sector providers to support recreation opportunities in the City. Reporting to the Recreation Operations Supervisor the Lifeguard Supervisor is primarily responsible for facilitating day-to-day operations of the Aquatics Department by providing supervision and guidance to aquatics staff as needed, as well as supporting all building staff in customer service and facility-related problem-solving and decision-making when required. Key Responsibilities: Performs Lifeguard/Instructor duties as required. Assists the Operations Supervisor in developing community aquatics programs. Assists the Operations Supervisor in organizing all aspects of aquatics programming. Requests supplies, arranges work coverage and work schedules for staff, prepares accident reports, answers complaints and provides direction/assistance to staff as needed. Assists with evaluating the performance of staff and may be consulted regarding probation or disciplinary action as required. Conducts staff training sessions as required. Performs Occupational First Aid Attendant duties as required. Required Knowledge, Abilities & Skills: Intermediate to excellent Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
